Well, after 8 years its finally time to say "goodbye" to my 1997 Toyota Avalon. It was a good car for me when I was 110 lbs heavier and needed something comfortable to use for my escape from Utah. Now, however, after saving for several years I can finally pick a car I *want* not just one I need.

Unfortunately, paying that much for a car means I'm fighting to get *exactly* the car I want. Which means having to wait for it to be built and shipped from Germany.

Thanks to the Internet Gods I get to track it, though and that's kinda fun in an "anticipation" way:

It's "Scheduled for Production"!!! I wish they had a web-cam for its trip down the assembly line. My co-worker says I'm stalking it.

I said its legal in Texas, as long as the car isn't the same sex.

So I'm stalking "her.."

I've stalked many cars in my life. Unfortunately I haven't ever been able to get one of my victims. Maybe when Jeremy is a dentist. Anyway, congrats on the new car. What kind is it anyway? When do you get it? That is so cool that you are getting exactly what you want. We still have Jeremy's 1996 Camry. It's great that Toyota's last forever except when you like to get a new car frequently. Then you don't have a good excuse to buy a new car.

Its kinda hard to see in the image, but its from BMW's website. 335xi (I had to go turbo and AWD) to be specific. Coupe, metallic graphite, black leather with aluminum trim. That combo alone made it hard to find, then I wanted certain accessories that weren't very common, so I'm waiting till June.

I know exactly what you mean about Toyota. I was glad we had ours during the difficult years and its nice to be buying on my timeline, not forced into something because my car is dying. But they can get boring. MLEIV, who *loves* her Echo, can't understand why I want anything but a Prius. She's been very understanding, if a bit mystified.

Hang in there. Jere's gotta finish that dentist thing eventually.

Well, that sounds like an awesome car. I can't wait to see pictures of you in it. Congrats!

Oh trust me, there will be WAY too many pictures!

And Google says Vegas is only a 17 hr drive from Seattle...
