Had to get up at 5:00 this morning, so last night's story is a day late...

I seem to be hitting my stride a bit better now, though I'm not entirely happy with the texture/color of the soup. I've never roasted peppers myself before and I don't think it turned out right. They were mostly black, but the skins didn't come off easily and I lost so much pulp to peeling that I don't think I had enough. Plus, are they supposed to deflate like that?

Ah well, it tastes good and is a good learning experience. *love* the new blender


Roasted Red Pepper Soup with Seared Scallops



And there it is. Not quite as red or as thick as I'd have liked, but puree soups are usually thinner and it does taste good: a nice light offset to the rest of the meal.
